On Sunday, September 21, 2014, our most cherished, Rick Allen Cook, age 55, passed away in Sullivan of natural causes. A resident of Shady Spring, Rick was a professional driver for over 37 years, having driven over three million miles without an incident or accident. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, a great fan of NASCAR, the WVU Mountaineers and Oakland Raiders Football teams.

Known affectionately as "Ricky," all his life, Rick was born on August 17, 1959, at Hinton. He was the son of the late Boyd Preston Cook (Deceased) of Rhodell and the late Martha Glenda Bragg-Cook (Deceased) of Ellison Ridge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Sue "Sissy" Cook-Huppenthal (1950-2013).

Rick leaves to cherish his memory his children, April Dawn Cook of Beckley WV, Daphney Christine Cook of Jamestown KY Caleb Brayden Cook of Shady Spring WV and Kelsea Morgan Lowe of Shady Spring WV; his grandchildren, Keynan Isaiah Cook of Beckley WV, Alizea Skye Daniels of Jamestown KY, and Noah Jaxsun Daniels of Jamestown KY; his siblings, Charles Steven “Stevie” Cook of Braxton WV, Samuel Tilden “Sammie” Cook of Lincolnton NC, Robert Preston “Robbie” Cook of Braxton WV, Frank Darrow “Frankie” Cook of Olathe KS, and Sandra Dee “Sandy” Cook-Robinson of Catawba NC.

A “Celebration of Life” service will be held on Saturday, September 27 2014 from 1:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the School of Harmony in Daniels, WV.Arrangements are by the Melton Mortuary and Cremation Center. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.meltonmortuary.com
