94 years ago on Oct. 16, 1918, two lovely roses bloomed into the garden of life to Volley and Bernice Moore. One of the roses was Lou Stella King. To know her was to love her.
Stella blossomed into the lives of others by doing everything they asked of her. She loved everybody. She was a woman who would give her last to anyone. She wanted the best for everybody.. Mrs. King was preceded in death by two sisters (one of whom was a twin); three stepdaughters; and four grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, Luther Knight and wife, Alfredia; special grandson, Revonne “Pumpkin” Carey; one granddaughter, Martha Minor; one grandson, Donald Bassett and wife, Gail; four nephews, Elijan Washington and wife, Evelyn, James Washington and wife, Elnora, Wesley Washington and wife, Gwendolyn, and Eugene Washington; and six grandchildren, Edith Jackson and husband, Eddie, Edna McCoy and husband, Lee Joy, Willie Turner and wife, Pat, Earl Turner, Robert King and wife, Julia, and Mary Cameron; seven great-great-grandchildren, Garrett Knight, Carmen Knight, Edith Burns, Eric Knight and wife, Trish, Johnny Yearby Jr., Vernecia Yearby and Latasha Shorts; and special cousins, Linda Hargrave and Linda Faye Gibbons.
