Mrs. Elizabeth J. 'Betty' Rodgers, age 88 of Conyers, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Rockdale Healthcare Center, one day shy of her 89th birthday. Mrs. Rodgers was a member of Heritage Hills Baptist Church and The Heritage Sunday School class which she dearly loved. Mrs. Rodgers was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Vernon E. Rodgers and parents, Rev. Ted R. and Ruby F. Jones. Mrs. Rodgers is survived by three children, Steven E. Rodgers of Watkinsville, Sharon R. and Philip D. Housworth, Conyers, Philip J. Rodgers, Conyers; three grandchildren, Kelly and Brian Gattis, Social Circle, Eric and Stephanie Rodgers, Rutledge, Brittany Johnson, Loganville; six great-grandchildren, Joshua Johnson, Emma Rodgers, Peyton Gattis, Madison Rodgers, Jaycee Johnson, Eli Gattis; aunt, Clarice Heard, Burnsville, MN; and sister-in-law, Pat Rodgers, Tucker.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 3, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel with Pastor Joe Hughes and Dr. Doug Ferguson officiating; interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Bob Hasser, Mr. Stan Heard, Mr. Lamar Maloy, Mr. Jack Porter, Mr. Carlton White and Mr. Jim Dunaway.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Rockdale Healthcare Center, especially her nurses, Barbara White and Tiffany Carson, who cared of Mrs. Rodgers like she was their own mother, and her loving caregiver, Joanna Galan Cazares.

Flowers accepted or donations may be made to The Dolly Goodpuppy Society, P.O. Box 361 Barnesville, GA 30204 in memory of Mrs. Rodgers and her love of dogs, especially rescues and strays.
