Born and raised in Philadelphia, his family moved to Collingdale when he was 11 years old. A graduate of Collingdale High School, he was the Owner/Operator of Roof Menders, Inc, Inc. Known for his craftsmanship as a contractor, he was a coin collector, enjoyed the casinos and playing cards.
Ray was an avid Philadelphia Sports fan, especially of the Phillies. He was the son to the late Raymond F., Sr. and the late Marie Kennedy Carson.
