Benjamin Thomas "Bennie" Walker Jr. 78, died at 3:33 a.m. May 18, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
Born Aug. 31, 1922, in Blodgett, son of the late Benjamin Thomas and Esther Louise Krueger Walker Sr., he was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was a car dealer and salesman for Jarvis Motor Company for 35 years and had also worked for the Sikeston Motor Company. A 32nd degree Mason and member of Sikeston Masonic Lodge 310 AF&AM, he was a Shriner with the Moolah Temple in St. Louis and member of the SEMO Shrine Motor Patrol and Sikeston Eagles Aerie 3319 and Elks Lodge 2319.
On Aug. 12, 1962, in Sikeston, he married Jolene Corlew who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two sons, Robert L. Walker and William B. Walker: two daughters, Elizabeth W Swann and Gina K. Walker; three sisters, Mary Alcorn and Margaret Breedlove and Betty Stancil; and seven grandchildren.
One brother and one sister preceded him in death.
Visitation was at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services were scheduled. The Rev. Rick Lasley, pastor of Wesley United Methodist Church, officiated.
Burial followed in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
