Sedan – A’Meta I. Dilley, age 80, of Sedan passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at her home in Rural Sedan.

A’Meta was born on October 17, 1938 in Cedar Vale, Kansas to Frank Rutledge and Lela (Cardin) Rutledge. She graduated from Sedan High School in Sedan in the class of 1955.

On February 22, 1955 she married Bill Dilley in Sedan, Kansas. They made their home in the Sedan area their entire married life. A’Meta was a homemaker, who was very involved in ranching and the oil business. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill on April 15, 2003.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sedan, she was a Lay leader for many years; was a member of the United Methodist Women; enjoyed cooking, gardening and sports, as she was an avid Kansas Jayhawk fan and a Sedan Blue Devil booster for many years. She dedicated her life to her family and church.

She is survived by two daughters, Jacqueline Dilley of Lawrence, Kansas and Rhonda Lampson and husband Charles of Sedan, Kansas; one son William Dilley of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; one brother, Jack Rutledge of Sedan, Kansas; one brother-in-law, Allen Stadig and wife Jean of Soldier Pond, Maine; three grandchildren; Katherine (Lampson) Anderson and husband Chris of Bartlesville, Kansas, Gary Dilley of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Elizabeth (Lampson) Schmidt and husband Daniel of Havana, Kansas; two great-grandchildren, Kolt and Kase Schmidt of Havana, Kansas. Many nieces nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Dilley, one brother, Cardin Rutledge and one sister, Judy Stadig.

Church services will be held Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sedan United Methodist Church in Sedan with Pastor Keunsik Lee of the United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at the DeBusk Cemetery in rural Elgin, Kansas.

Family and Friends may call on Friday, May 3, 2019 at the Dickens Family Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

The family has suggested memorials to the Sedan United Methodist Church or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and those may be left in care of the Dickens Family Funeral Home, 209 N. Douglas, Sedan, Kansas 67361.
