Janette Cook Jacobs, 72, of Haleyville, passed away Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009 at Lakeland Community Hospital. She was born Sept. 16, 1937 in Quitman, Miss. She was a retired textile worker and a member of Oakwood Missionary Baptist Church in Phil Campbell. Funeral services were held Dec. 1, 2009 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with James Williams officiating. Burial was at New Hope Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Darnell Jacobs; sons, Terry Perkins and wife, Angelia, of Phil Campbell, Johnny Perkins and wife, Shelly, of Trinity, Ala., Greg Jacobs, of Big Spring, Texas; brother, Ronnie Cook and wife, Marilyn, of Quitman, Miss.; sisters, Ann Beard and husband, Johnny, of Dale Wood, Miss., Carol Dees and husband, Bruce, of Meridian, Miss., Barbara Ford and husband, Randy, of Meridian, Miss.; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus G. and Mary Lou Cook; sons, Russell Wayne Perkins, Mark Anthony Perkins; twin sister, Janice Stanwood.
