Ashley Edward Smith III, 20, of Gloucester, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 27, 2018.
He was employed at Curtis Contracting, along with his father. He loved his family, friends and pets. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. When not hanging out with his father or friends, he could be found in the woods hunting.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Patsy Butler; great-grandparents, Robert and Della Driver and Margaret Smith; great-uncle, Robert “Bunch” Driver Jr., and great-aunt, Flossie Hayes.
Ashley is survived by his mother, Angela Butler; his father, Ashley Smith Jr.; sisters, Melanie Franklin, Brittany Smith and Courtney Butler; brother, Marcus Butler; grandparents, Ashley Sr. and Shirley Smith; aunts, Sharon Smith and Tracie Lovejoy; uncle, Robert Butler II; niece, Kiana; nephew, Jordan, and numerous cousins and friends.
A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, at Newington Baptist Church, 6169 Main Street, Gloucester. Viewing was from 11 a.m. until hour of service at the church. Burial was in Windsor Gardens.
