Christine was born July 11, 1948, in Hyannis. She was the youngest child of Walker and Donna (Curtiss) Hill.
She was born with cerebral palsy, which caused mobility problems for her. At age 6 she moved to the Beatrice State Development Center. She resided there until age 19. She attended school and skill training classes that helped her learn how to cope with life’s many challenges. Christine eventually moved to Grand Island, where she found a community, caregivers and friends that enabled her to have a purposeful life.
She worked at Goodwill Industries and Mid Nebraska Individual Services for many years. Christine had a simple understanding of faith. Jesus loved her and provided for her and she praised him in return. Christine moved with her parents to Ogallala in the 1970s. She spent family gatherings playing cards and games with her nieces and nephews. Uno and Skipbo were her favorites! She returned to Grand Island after several years.
Christine had a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed the give and take of teasing and joking around. She adored family and friends and had a special fondness for children. Any time spent with friends was special to her. She is remembered for her sunny smile and grateful heart.
Christine was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and attended Abundant Life Christian Center with Mazony and Djiny Bien Aise and their children, her loving care providers.
Survivors of the immediate family include her brother, Jack (Vicki) Hill of Brule; nieces, Jennie Hill (Paul) Estabrooks of Omaha and Jackie Hill (Matt) Rita of Charlestown, Mass.; and nephews, Wade (Kimberly) Hill of Grant and Corky Hill of Omaha. Others left to cherish her memory include her 15 grandnieces and grandnephews, cousins and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walker and Donna Hill; brothers, Robert and Curtiss Hill; and sister, Donna L. Hill.
