Lonnie Jo Gibson, Sr., 53, of Angola died Monday, April 29, 2019, in Angola.

He was born July 5, 1965, in LaGrange to James Gibson and Betty (Boyd) Jordan. His father later married Tina Gibson, and she survives in Wolcottville.

He attended Lakeland High School.

Lonnie enjoyed riding and tinkering with motorcycles and driving and watching race cars. But, his greatest love was for his children.

Surviving are a daughter, Ashley (Corey) Hart of Wolcottville; four sons, Lonnie Gibson, Jr. of Wolcottville, Kyle Gibson of Wolcottville, Jimmy Ramey of Wolcottville, and Tyler Gibson, of Wolcottville; eight grandchildren, Myles Edwards, Jaycee Edwards, Tristan Hanford, Brady Hart, Grayson Hart, Mallorie Gibson, Kyle Gibson, and Rayden Slone; six sisters, Michelle Gibson of Kendallville, Amy Gibson of Michigan, Carin Edelman of Sidney, Tyana (William) Jeffries of Wolcottville, Mary (Jackie) Williams of Rome City, and Jessica (Jayson) Smith of Avilla; four brothers, Tommy Gibson of Rome City, Shon Gibson of Rome City, Larry Polly, Jr. of Wolcottville and Casey Polly of Wolcottville; and maternal grandmother, Irene Boyd.

He was preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandparents, Sam and Elsie Gibson; and maternal grandfather, Robert Boyd.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 4, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Young Family Funeral Home, Wolcottville Chapel, State Road 9 North, Wolcottville with Pastor Wade Sturdivant officiating. Burial will be in Orange Cemetery, Rome City.
