Loreli was born in Logan, Utah while her family was on vacation and she returned to her home in Maricopa California when she was 2 weeks old. She lived in Maricopa until her junior year in Maricopa High School and then moved to Bakersfield, graduating from Bakersfield High School in 1946. Loreli attended college at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah from 1946 to 1950, where she graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. While at Brigham Young University she met her future husband, Adrian Ryan, who graduated with a degree in Economics and subsequently had a career with the J.C. Penney Company.
Upon graduation and her mar-riage to Adrian, Loreli taught school in Bakersfield City Schools and in Rosedale Elementary (Kindergarten) for 2 years. They lived in Bakersfield for seven years where their first 2 sons were born and then Sunnyvale where their last son was born. After that it was a whirlwind tour to El Cajon CA, Los Angeles CA, Longview WA, Bellevue WA, Aeia Hawaii and finally Chico CA where they retired in 1986. In retirement Loreli and Adrian moved to St. George Utah.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various leadership positions. She was a dedicated mother and teacher always volunteering within the church, Cub Scouts, parent teacher association, as well as attending her sons sporting events and activities that never seemed to end. She was an avid reader, adventurer and played the piano and organ.
Survivors include her sons Carl (Crystal) of Lynnwood Washing-ton; Judd (Roberta) of Bremerton Washington; Spencer (Heather) of San Diego California; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and her brother Richard Winn of San Francisco.
