Hobert was a self-employed repairman who worked hard, enjoyed gardening, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a veteran of the United States Navy who served during the Korean War. Hobert was also a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Odom Sutton; his sons and daughter-in-law, Les and Penny Sutton and Jay Wilhite; his daughters and sons-in-law, Gwen and Al Willingham, Mimi and Terry Mathison, Rebecca and Bruce Edwards, Kim Haney, and Becky Dabbs; his grandchildren, Landon Sutton, Brett Sutton, Silas Sutton, Seth Sutton, Priscilla Sutton, Ross Mathison, Molly Mathison, Stephanie Moss, Trey Willingham, Trent Willingham, Jason Edwards, Chris Edwards, Matt, Edwards, Joshua Edwards, Meggian Wilhite, Brandon Haney, and Victoria Dabbs; five great-grandchildren; his brothers, Dillard Sutton and Ellis Sutton; his sisters, Glenda Long and Jeanette Kelley; numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful companions, Princess and Pepper.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2008 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Doug Harris officiating. A private service interring Hobert’s cremated remains will be held at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 p.m. Tuesday prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the St. Jude’s Hospital or to the Grace Baptist Church Building Fund.
