Mrs. Alda Malinda Willis, 86, LaPlata, died this morning at a Kirksville hospital.
Mrs. Willis was born Dec. 28, 1883 near Browning, the daughter of Wilkin P. and Vena Neighbors Breeding. She lived on a farm northeast of Browning until 1950 when she moved to Marceline. She remained in Marceline until two years ago when she moved to a LaPlata nursing home.
On Oct. 23, 1901, she married Edward Grant Brookshier at Browning. He died on June 27, 1934. On Dec. 31, 1950 she married George W. Willis in LaPlata. Mr. Willis died on Jan 21, 1967. She was also preceded in death by a son, George Brookshier, a brother and three sisters.
Survivors include a son, Joel Brookshier, Browning; two daughters, Mrs. Holland (Ella) Clem, LaPlata, Mrs. Artie (Dolores) Taylor, Downey, Calif.; a step-son, (Went Willis, Lakewood, Calif.; a brother, Virgil Breeding, Tustin, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Della Mace, Browning; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
