"Mrs. Emma Charlotte Morrison, 84, of 7832 Newton avenue, Overland Park, died yesterday at the home. She had been ill about three months. Mrs. Morrison was born near Des Moines and moved to Greater Kansas City about 1906 from Tulsa. Her husband, Riley Morrison, who died in 1922, did excavation work for the roadbed of the electric railway from Kansas City to Olathe. The line was discontinued about 1940. Mr. Morrison was a brother-in-law of William B. Strang, financier of the line.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Curran of 4600 Olive street, Mrs. Carl Campbell of Lenexa and Miss Ida Morrison of the home; four sons, William Morrison and Lawrence Morrison of the home, Fred Morrison of San Marcos, Tex., Robert Morrison of 8540 Eby street, Overland Park; three brothers, Will Besser of Sand Springs, Ok., and Robert Besser and Gid Besser of Keystone, Ok.; and a sister, Mrs. George Durscherl of Tahlequah, Ok.

Services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday at the Hoge Chapel, Overland Park. Burial will be in Lenexa Cemetery." The Kansas City Times, August 9, 1954
