Brenda Jean Fox, 69, of Pekin, passed away at 5:58 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2019 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria
Born September 29, 1949 in Halls, Tennessee to Newt and Jean (Lents) and Bushart, she married Gary Dale Fox on June 16, 1967 in Pekin. He preceded her in death on December 7, 2015 in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, David Bushart
Surviving are one daughter, Paige (Kirt) Gibbs; one son, Bret (Shelia) Fox of Washington; four grandchildren, Ian Gibbs and Natalie Gibbs, both of Pekin, and Hannah Fox and Brock Fox, both of Washington; four sisters, Linda (Larry) Stepanski of Pekin, Jackie (Don) Horn of Clarksville, Tennessee, Janet (Jim) Newell of East Peoria and Jill Baker of Iowa. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Peggy Wood of Pekin and her brother-in-law, Dean (Sandy) Fox of Groveland.
Brenda cherished her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was an awesome grandma. She was an avid bowler and loved her Chicago Cubs. One of her favorite pastimes was shopping and having fun with her friends. She was a Mom to many over the years and her legacy of love will never be forgotten. She loved helping people and impacted so many lives in her 69 years. She will be sadly missed.
Cremation rites will be accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The family will host a celebration of Brenda's life at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2019 at the Roy L. King VFW Post #1232 at 15665 VFW Rd. Pekin, IL 61554.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 530 NE Glen Oak Ave. Peoria, IL 61614.
