Magdalena "Lena" G. Stehle was the third child of Joseph and Barbara Stehle. In 1880-81, she was a milliner for the Segelbaum Brothers dry goods store in Minneapolis. On October 10, 1883, she married August F. Floerkey, a bookkeeper for the Segelbaum Brothers. August eventually became the bookkeeper/credit manager for the Winston-Newell Company, a wholesale grocery business. He was also heavily involved with the Ancient Order of United Workmen, at one time serving as the Grand Master of the fraternal organization. Magdalena was involved with the Myrtle Rebekah Lodge and the Banner Degree of Honor clubs. August and Magdalena had seven children: Frank Charles, Minnie Charlotte, Gertrude "Gertie", Louis August, Laurel Clara, Edith S., and Grace M. In June of 1913, August and Magdalena took a trip with their daughter Grace to the Canadian Rockies and Pacific coast, including the cities of Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco. Magdalena G. (Stehle) Floerkey died at her Minneapolis home on July 26, 1926, and was buried at Saint Mary's Cemetery in that same city. August Floerke died in 1935 and was buried beside his wife.
