Mrs. Mary Evelynn Young Roland age 59, of Jefferson, NC died Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at her daughter's home. Mrs. Roland was born January 28, 1957 in Chester, PA to Edlynn and Mary McCoy Young.

Mrs. Roland was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Earl Roland Sr., brother, Charles Young and sister, Nancy Young.

Mrs. Roland was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting blankets for her grandchildren and playing with her dog, "Old Jake".

The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm Friday at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will be held at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. Lonnie Jones and Rev. Russell Sheets following the visitation.

Mrs. Roland is survived by: daughter, Janey Hawkins of Jefferson, 2 Sons, Earl Roland, Jr. and Gregory Roland both of Jefferson, 2 Brothers, Edlynn Young of Jefferson and William Young of Gastonia, Sister, Violet Beck of Jefferson also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
