Dale Lawrence Daniels, 86, passed away on April 27th, 2019. Dale was born to Russell and Agnes Daniels on July 31st, 1932 in Kokomo. He graduated Valedictorian from Clay Township High School in 1950, then went on to obtain an Associate of Science from Lain Technical Institute in Indianapolis in 1957 and then an Associate of Science in Machine Drafting from Chicago Technical College in 1957. Dale served our country during the Korean War in the United States Army. After, he retired from Delco Electronics after 37 years of service as a Mechanical Design Engineer. Dale also took several supplemental classes at Indiana University Kokomo for training at Delco. Dale married his wife of 60 years, Ethel Kathryn Stakelbeck, on February 20th, 1959 and she survives.

Dale was a lifetime member of the Galveston Archery Club, Isaac Walton League. He was also a bow hunting safety education instructor. Dale enjoyed fishing and hunting, bowling, and playing golf. Dale and Ethel supported and enjoyed the weekly Kokomo Park Band Summer Concerts.

Dale and Ethel attended Highland Park Church for many years and they were very involved. He served on the Elder Board,the Deacon Board, and was in charge of weekly offertory accounting for several years. Dale was very active in AWANA. Between services on Sundays, Dale rang the chimes for the church.

Dale leaves behind his wife, Ethel Daniels; children , Teresa (Frank) Hackbarth of Seattle, WA, Trudy (Keith) Whitford of Kokomo, and David (Tina) Daniels of Winona Lake, IN; siblings Phyllis (Darlton) Lavengood, Sarah (Gene) Lear, and Paula McBay; grandchildren Emily (Austin) Conroy, Bryce Daniels, Kayla Daniels, Alec Daniels, Benjamin Hackbarth, and Bethany Hackbarth; step grandchildren Scott Whitford and Kolleen Whitford; and great-grandchild Levi Conroy.

Dale is preceded in passing by his daughter Trena Daniels (April 25th, 1966 - March 17th, 1967) and his sister, Barbara Shelby.

Friends and family may call from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 1st, at Ellers Mortuary, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo, Indiana 46902. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Vasicek. Dale will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens with military honors following the service.
