Thomas Dexter Clayton, age 65, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019, at his residence. He was born June 2, 1953, in Somerset, Kentucky, to the late Travis and Mildred Oakes Clayton. Tom was a self-employed carpenter, who never met a stranger. In his lifetime, he had many dogs, most of which have passed before him, including his favorite dog, Sambo.

Survivors include: his wife, Gwynne Hamm Clayton; daughters, Karmaday Clayton and Mackenzie Clayton, both of Cincinnati; step-children, Sonia Jones, of Baltimore, Ohio, Tonia (Scott) Saluga, of Independence, Kentucky, and Joey Jones and Christina (Robbie) Sapp, both of Maysville; a sister, Sandy Shappley, of Russell Springs, Kentucky; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Gary Clayton.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of his family.
