Clifford Ray Foster, 87, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2018 in Mt. Washington, Kentucky after enduring a long illness. Clifford was born on May 2, 1931 to Jesse and Josie Foster. A lifelong resident of the Pleasant Grove Community, he was anchored in his Christian faith. Clifford loved living his life for the Lord through giving and serving to the Pleasant Grove community and Immanuel Baptist Church. Clifford loved to travel with his wife Helen to Alabama and Texas to visit his daughters. He also loved to cook for others, garden, build things, Bluegrass music and enjoying God's natural outdoor creation. Preceded in death by his infant daughter, Gwendolyn Raye Foster, Clifford is survived by his wife of 68 years, Helen Lewis Foster, their children, Cliffa Ann Foster, of Belton, TX, Lanna Janzen (Greg), of Scottsboro, Alabama; grandchildren, Lauren Amacker (Aaron) of Birmingham, Alabama, Matthew Janzen (Ashley) of Starkville, MS; as well as many beloved sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, as well as many nieces and nephews. The Foster family wishes to express a special appreciation to the many friends, family, neighbors, and a special thanks to the caregivers at Green Meadows Nursing Facility and Hosparus Health of Louisville. A celebration of Clifford's wonderful life will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home in Mt. Washington with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Monday, November 19, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
