Madeline Ray Smith went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 after battling breast cancer for 3 years. She never complained about her situation, she just said, “I trust the Lord.”

She was employed for 40 years in the nursing field. She loved her patients and spending time with her loved ones. She enjoyed fixing puzzles and praising and worshiping her Lord. She would share Jesus with whomever she met. She was a member at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Cartines Wallace (fiancé Yessica Lara); grandchildren, Shawn, Cameron, and Jadyn; mother, Pearline McCain; Phillip Wallace, Jackie Craig Bobson, Angelia Broderick, Connie Ferguson, Sylvia Young, Anita Scott Jones, and a lot of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Sylvester McCain; brothers, Theallis Wallace and Donald McCain; a nephew, Steffen Bobson; and a great-nephew, Juelz Lopez.

Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, St. Paul Missionary Baptist, 1204 W. 14th St., Marion, IN 46953.



Immediately following the visitation Madeline’s funeral will be held at 1 p.m. with a burial following at Grant Memorial Park.

Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
