WEST WINFIELD - Earl A. Duncan, 60, passed away Monday evening, April 22, 2019, at Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown.
Earl was born May 8, 1958, in Herkimer, son of the late Edward and Rosetta (Mondore) Duncan.
He was raised and educated in Schuyler Lake and Richfield Springs.
At one time he worked for the Village of Richfield Springs DPW. Later on, he became superintendent of the Schuyler Lake Cemetery. He also worked with his family as a logger.
On July 29, 1978, he married the former Laurie Bond in Bridgewater.
Surviving him are his wife of 40 years, Laurie; two sons, Earl Duncan Jr. and his fiancée, Jennifer Larmon of Cedarville and Zachary of West Winfield; two brothers, William Duncan of Burlington Flats and James Duncan and his wife, Peggy of Richfield Springs; three sisters, Rosemary Oldick of Fort Plain, Elizabeth Walsh of Richfield Springs and Betty Abrams and her husband, Barry of Richfield Springs; nine grandchildren, Maghen, Caitlyn, Tyler, "Junior," Sarah, Hannah, Payton, Taylor and Hayden; and sister-in-law, Janet Duncan.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Duncan.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 27, at J. Seaton McGrath Funeral Home, 40 W. James St., Richfield Springs. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Alan Miller officiating. Burial will take place later this spring in Schuyler Lake Cemetery.
