Mr. Billy "Ray" Crews, Jr., 44, died Wednesday morning (March 23, 2005) at Satilla Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Waycross. He was a son to the late Billy Ray Crews, Sr. and was preceded in death by his best friend Jeffrey Welch.

He was a member of Ivory Palace Church in Nahunta.

The survivors include a daughter, Valarie Lynn Crews and a son, Michael Lando Crews both of Waycross; his mother, Peggy Clark Crews of Waycross; two sisters, Cheryl Lynn Crews and Lisa Crews Cox both of Waycross; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday (March 26, 2005) at Ivory Palace Church in Nahunta. Burial will be held in Hoboken Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Music Funeral Home Friday night from 6 until 8 o'clock.
