Obituary: Donald “Don” Lee Marsh, 76, of Weston passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Ruby Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Don was born on August 31, 1942 in Weston to the late Darrell David and Eleanor Maxine Jendro Marsh. Don graduated from Lewis County High School as a member of the class of 1960 and joined the United States Air Force upon graduation. He continued his education and received a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Colorado State University. On March 17, 1964 he married the love of his life, Carolyn Marie Skinner, and they shared the joys of raising their daughter and son. In addition to his wife of 55 years, Carolyn, Don is survived by two children: Michelle Defosse and husband, Keith, of Eagle River, AK, and David Marsh and wife, Heidi, of Wasilla, AK; four grandchildren: Robyn, Marissa and Holly Marsh, and Colton Defosse; and one brother, David Michael “Mike” Marsh and wife, Barbara, of Horner. Don was passionate about sports and spent many years playing and coaching softball. He also loved hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. His time in the service took him and his family to many places over the years. Upon retiring from 21 years of service with the United States Air Force, he chose Alaska as his home for over 40 years. He moved back to his hometown of Weston in the summer of 2018. Don was a member of Shriner’s and Jackson Masonic Lodge # 35 of Good Hope. Family and friends will gather at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service located at 144 Hackers Creek Rd. in Jane Lew from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, April 29, 2019. Following the visitation, Don’s request for cremation will be honored.
