He was the son of George and Geraldine (Burh) Snyder. Matt graduated from Holy Name High School and then attended Northern Michigan University. He was a lifelong resident of Escanaba.
Matt honorably served in the U.S. Army from 1964 until 1969.
On May 21, 1966, Matt married Judde Kutches at St. Thomas Church in Escanaba.
Matt worked for Mead Paper Company until his retirement.
He loved golfing and taking care of his yard. He enjoyed reading and following sports, especially the Green Bay Packers. Matt and Judde enjoyed wintering in Lake Havasu, Ariz., with their friends. Matt was a proud member of the Amvets, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and VFW. He was a member of the Delta County Veterans Council Honor Guard. He also was involved with the Elks Lodge 354, Eagles Club and the Escanaba Country Club.
He was survived by: his wife, Judde; sister, Martha (Richard) Ambrosino; brother in law, Peter (Barbara) Kutches; and sister in law, Ruby (Ronald) Carroll; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Matt was preceded in death by his parents. George and Geraldine.
