In addition to his wife, Delores Eater, David is survived by his son, Mike McCann and wife, Mary Ann of Mount Vernon, Illinois; two grandchildren, Chris McCann of Mount Vernon, Illinois, and Tim Koch and wife, Melissa of Woodlawn, Illinois; three great grandchildren, Zerek Koch, Zelina Koch, and Zaylor Koch; one brother, Donald McCann and wife, Dorothy of Knoxville, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Everett McCann and Mary McKitrick, father-in-law, Olen Eater; and mother-in-law, Edith Eater.
David was a member of the Mount Vernon Masonic Lodge #31 A.F. & A.M. as a 33 Degree Mason, a past Potentate Ainad Shrine Temple of East Saint Louis, Illinois, the Scottish Rite Bodies of Southern Illinois in Belleville, Illinois, and the Jefferson County Shrine Club. Early in life he worked for the FBI in the finger printing division in Washington, D.C. Afterwards, he associated with Eater Heating and Air Conditioning and then became business manager for Page Insurance Company until he retired. David will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
Per David’s request, no services will be held. Memorials may be made to the Casey Middle School P.E. Program or the Shriners Hospital for Children.
