Carol Joy (Martinez, Beaver) Dean passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 23 at home with her family by her side. Carol was born on July 13, 1944 to William and Alice Bernice (Warren, Beaver) Martinez. Carol was raised in Helena and grew up in the "6th Ward" (proud of it) with her large, loving, extended family.

Carol met Dennis Dean in December of 1975 in Helena. They were married on July 16, 1977 in Cour d'Alene, Idaho. Dennis joined Carol's family as "Dad" to her children and began the rest of their lives together.

Carol graduated from Montana Barber College in 1979 and began a 30 year career in the barber and salon business. Carol and Dennis, with their family, lived in several western states as Dennis pursued his career in the construction industry, finally settling in the Sacramento, CA region in 1986.

Carol owned and operated several barbershops, beginning in Folsom with Green Valley Hair, and eventually combining her barbershop with a florist at G. Rossi in downtown Sacramento.

Carol was indeed an artist at heart and was an honors art student (pottery to painting) at Sacramento City College for several years.

Carol and Dennis retired in 2015 and returned "home" to Helena. They had shared 30 years of incredible friends, family, wonderful relationships, and memories at their second "home" in Northern California.

Carol's true calling was to share her Christian faith with others. Carol and Dennis found a fine group of faith-filled Christians at Big Sky Fellowship here in Helena and have been greatly blessed by this congregation.

Carol has joined her parents, her brother Don, and her sister Joyce in the peace and glory of heaven.

Carol is survived by her husband Dennis; her children Darren (Bobbi), Parrish (Vicki), Brent (Teresa), Janice (Tim), and Shellie; her brothers Larry, Ray and John; her sisters Nancy, Shirley, Phyllis, Glenda, Mary, Judy, and Clarice; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4th at Big Sky Fellowship, 7610 Roughsawn Dr. in Helena. A luncheon will follow the service in the fellowship hall of the church. Following the luncheon, a graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 7100 N. Montana in Helena. Memorials in honor of Carol are suggested to Options Clinic of Helena 1005 Partridge Pl Ste 1, Helena, MT 59602 or to Big Sky Fellowship Building Fund, 7610 Roughsawn Dr, Helena, MT 59602
