Obituary for John Ivan Wiley
John Ivan Wiley, born November 3, 1940 in Penrose, CO went on to be with the Lord on April 22, 2019.
He is survived by the love of his life of 53 years, Patricia Ann Wiley; brother, Vergil Wiley: son, Johnmark Wiley, of Pueblo, CO; granddaughters, Genevieve and Mikayla; nieces, Deola (David Wood) Brinley, Peggy (Gerald) Gehringer, Mary Aldy, of Denver, CO and Rita (Doug) Hetrick, of Walsh, CO; nephew Les (Kathy) Mendicello, of Longview, TX; and great nieces, Kayla, Kendra, Kari Gehringer.
Preceded in death by his son, Timothy Tinsley Wiley; brother, Charles Alvin Wiley; and sister, Neola Aldy.
John Wiley, son of John McKinley Wiley and Cora Lee Hancock; attended La Junta High School and graduated in 1959; met Patricia, got married and then went on to have two sons.
John worked for the Colorado State Highway Department for 40 years. After retirement, the Colorado State Highway Department brought him back as an hourly employee for three more years.
John's real passion was bringing children to the word of Christ; he worked as a children's church teacher and an AWANA leader for many years.
A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel.
