He graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1958.
Frank began his nearly lifelong career at Riddell National Bank during his senior year of high school. He began working there on September 1, 1957 doing odd jobs around the bank. He ended his 54 year career on February 15, 2002 retiring as a bank Vice President.
Frank loved the community he called home. He served in various civic organizations over the years. Rotary was very dear to Frank. He served in several different capacities including Rotary President from 1994-1995. Frank received recognition for 29 years of perfect attendance in 2017. Many may remember Frank from his annual sales of the 4th of July Celebration raffle tickets. For many years he was the clubs leading seller. Frank was awarded two Paul Harris awards the latest in 2011.
Frank was also a devoted member of the Epworth United Methodist Church. There he served in many capacities including as a Trustee.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Mazo Farmer; his wife Linda (Hudson) Farmer whom he married on October 1, 1988; she preceded him in death on May 13, 2017; and 2 brothers-in-law Warren Hofmann and George “Sonny” Dickison; and a nephew Tim Hofmann.
He is survived by his sister Kathryn C. Hofmann and Laura E. Dickison; nephews Ray Hofmann and wife Sandy and Tom Hofmann and wife Jean Ann; great nieces: Rachel Hofmann, Bridget Hofmann, and Alison Hofmann.
Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, 421 East National Ave. Brazil, Indiana 47834, on April 29, 2019 from 5-7pm. Services will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery.
