"George Allen, 88, Lenexa, Kas., a retired rural mail carrier, died Thursday at the Bethany hospital. Born in Trenton, Ill., he had lived in Johnson County, Kas., since he was a boy. He was a charter member of the Lenexa Masonic lodge and a member of the Adda chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, which was named after his wife who died in 1943, and the Lenexa Methodist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ella Clarissa Nesselrode of 927 Cleveland avenue, Kansas City, Kansas, and Mrs. Grace Tinklepaugh of 6117 McGee street; a son, Dr. Lewis G. Allen of 1051 Kimball avenue, Kansas City, Kansas; and a sister, Mrs. Nellie Bailiff of Los Angeles. Services will be at 2 o'clock Sunday at the Methodist Church in Lenexa. Masonic graveside services and burial will be in the Lenexa cemetery." The Kansas City Times, January 26, 1946
