Bookseller and radical author whose satirical magazine, the 'Political Litany', was prosecuted in a famous case for blasphemy. He was acquitted, but continued his association with the cartoonist Cruickshank in a number of political squibs. Became a friend of Charles Dickens who attended his funeral.
