He attended Bradwell in Hinesville and Armstrong State College where he received his degree in Accounting. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 631 and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda Emily Russell, parents Carl Austin Russell and Geneva Inez Smith Russell, his sister Janice and brother Rusty. He is survived by his wife Margaret Mary Carter Russell, his son Michael Augustus Russell (Angela Marie) and grandchildren Mikayla Joann, Avery Nicole, Madeline McKenzie, Alexis Briana and Austin Michael Russell.
