Mary Elizabeth Coello of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in St. Clair on April 25, 2019, having reached the age of ninety-four years, three months and twenty-two days. Mary was born in St. Louis, MO, on January 3, 1925, daughter of Emmerich Franz Somogyi and Maria Somogyi nee Untenecker. As a young woman she was united in marriage to Charles Coello and one son came to bless this union.

Mary is survived by her daughter-in-law, Magda Coello; by two grandchildren, Joe Coello and wife, Danielle Atchison-Coello) of St. Clair, MO and Laura Kirk and husband, Jerry, of Eureka, MO; by four great-grandchildren, Lillie and Charli Coello of St. Clair and Connor and Carson Jones of Eureka; by one sister, Emily Somogyi of Creve Coeur, MO; by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Somogyi and Emmerich Franz; by her husband, Charles Coello; by her son, Robert Coello; by one brother, Frank Somogyi, and by two sisters, Betty Vogel and Anna Somogyi.

Mary was a Christian and member of the Catholic faith. She was a beautician by trade and had worked in a beauty shop for many years. Mary enjoyed many hobbies and interests during her life, including crocheting and working word puzzle books. She was an avid walker as long as her health allowed. Mary had a love of animals and had enjoyed the companionship of pets during her life. Her family fondly remembers her fondness for a good cup of coffee. Nothing made her happier than the time she spent with her family and many wonderful memories have been created.

A kind and loving mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services were held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, April 29, 2019, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with Father Eric Kunz officiating. Private committal services will take place at a later date.
