January 21, 1921 - April 20, 2019

Laura E. Barker, 98, of Decatur County, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019 at her daughter's home i Ocala, Florida.

Born January 21, 1921 in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Leroy and Goldie (Walker) Hoban. She married Dewey P. Barker on August 12, 1939 and he preceded her on February 13, 2002.

She is survived by one son Dewey Richard Barker of Aberdeen, Maryland; one daughter, Elizabeth Jane Hollrah of Ocala, Florida; two half-sisters, Jane Hoban Kuhn of Rush County, Joan Hoban Neff of Sebring, Florida; half-brother Norman Hoban of Greensburg; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse; a son James H. Barker; two brothers, Marshall Hoban and Randall Hoban; and half brother Wayne Hoban.

Mrs. Barker was raised in Shelby and Rush Counties. After she married, she moved to Decatur County near Adams where she lived for most of her adult life.

Laura was a member of Adams Methodist Church and attended Cornerstone Christian Fellowship.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Glenn E. George Funeral Home, 106 E. Franklin St., St. Paul, with Dr. Edward Johnson of Florida officiating. Visitation will be observed from 6:00-8:00 pm on Monday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery in Adams.

Memorial contributions can be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, or Hospice of Marion County, Florida in care of the funeral home, 106 E. Franklin Street, St. Paul, IN 47272.
