BOYD, Margaret Isabel 91, passed away Tuesday, 9 April, 2013. Margaret (Maggie to some) was born August 13, 1921 in Clover, South Carolina to the late James and Mary Whisnant Boyd. She was preceded in death by her her husband Frank, brother James Boyd, sisters Ethel Boyd Beam and Louise Boyd Hinson and long time friend Bill Lisch. Margaret is survived by a family who cherished and will forever miss her sunny disposition including her four children; daughter Caroline of Peebles Ohio; daughters Marilyn and Mary of Dayton, Ohio and son Kent (Dorrie) of Portland, Oregon as well as many loving nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. Upon proudly graduating from Clover High School and Lees-McRae College, Margaret, a member of our Greatest Generation, served our country as a military spouse. After nurturing a family, Margaret worked for the NCR Corporation and retired after a long career to pursue doting on the family she loved. During retirement her hobbies included travel to visit family members across the US, visits to deserts and rivers to dance with one armed bandits as well as donating to the State of Ohio educational system. The family expresses unyielding gratitude to the leadership, staff and volunteers of Hospice of Dayton who provided comforting serenity to Margaret and the entire family. Upon the raising of her spirit, in reflection her selfless nature, Margaret donated her physical form to Wright State University for medical research. There will be a remembrance celebration of Margaret's well-lived life on 4 May 2013 from 3-7 pm at 2112 Hedge Gate Boulevard, Beavercreek, Ohio. Mom, Margaret, Maggie, Grandma - the family is forever grateful for your living embodiment of: There's a dark and a troubled side of life; There's a bright and a sunny side, too; Tho' we meet with the darkness and strife, The sunny side we also may view.
