Oather O. "Smiley" Brandon age 92 of Morgan, passed away early Thursday morning, April 25, 2019, in Whitney, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, April 29, 2019, in the Lawson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Morgan Cemetery. Rev. Rick Ogles will officiate.

Smiley, as he was known to all his friends, was born January 31, 1927, in Non, Oklahoma, a son of the late Walter L. and Nellie A. Carr Brandon. He moved with his parents in many parts of Texas. Smiley worked at various jobs such as the Houston Ship Yard, sold used cars, a television technician and a chef in various restaurants. He also served with the U. S. Army in WWII He had made his home in Morgan since 1980.

His survivors include his children, Janet Lee Gipson and Michael Wayne Brandon; sisters, Ada Lee Stapp and Altha Benoit, both of Morgan; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives
