Eternal life dawned for Helen C. Behm (nee Heiland) at the age of 102 and 2 months to the day.
She was born on September 17th, 1910 on the Heiland homestead 2 years after her parents arrived in Saskatchewan from the Volga are of Eastern Europe via Argentina.
Following the death of her husband, Helen farmed in the Luseland area. In 1995 she moved to Saskatoon where she lived in an apartment at St. Ann's Senior Citizen Village then into Care section in 2009. Her family is grateful for her many memories she took delight in sharing, her many quilts and afghans and her praying for every one who touched her life.
She was predeceased by her parents: Adam Heiland Sr. (1950) and Marion Heiland (1943); husband Mike (1955); all her siblings and their spouses: Sebastian Heiland (1975), Margaret Frank (1992), Caroline Wagner (1996), Marie Wagner (1997), Annie Veltin (1984), Adam Heiland Jr. (2005); brother-in-law, John Behm (1968) and son-in- law, Richard Steinhauer (2001).
She is survived by her children: Sr. Adeline Behm of Saskatoon, Rosemarie (Adelard) Ouimet of Edmonton, Jean (Stewart) Taylor, Stan Behm, Lucille Steinhauer all of Calgary, Norm (Sharyl) Behm of Coquitlam and Rita (Martin) Schotte of Parksville; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grand children as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Ann's Senior Citizens Village, Queen's House of Retreats, CNIB or charity of choice.
