Note: Non Catholics were buried in the rear of St Louis Cemetery No 1 prior to 1822. The narrow "Protestants Section" in St. Louis was much longer but was truncated after construction to Treme Street in 1820. Episcopal Christ Church was awarded the land that became Girod Street Cemetery (1815-1939). It became the final resting place for New Orleans residents who had come from the Anglo-American north and Midwest.
