Charles Thomas Ledbetter was the seventh of eight children born to Nellie Ivy (Blevins) and Oscar Earnest Ledbetter on April 28th 1931 in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma. Charles grew up in Lone Wolf and in 1949 he entered the Unites States Armed Force where he served his country as a Gunner in the Korean War. While serving he was decorated with two bronze star medals the Korean Service Medal and the UN Service Medal. When returning from the war Charles surrendered his life to Christ. He accepted the call to the ministry. He was a man of many talents and worked as a butcher, oilfield worker- he was the owner of a service station. Charles went out knocking on doors inviting people to church when he met the love of his life Opal. They professed their undying love to each other on July 4th, 1959 and have labored together in ministry for 60 years. Charles served as a Pastor in Verden, Altus, Muskogee, Lawton twice, Bowling Green Ohio, Purcell, Shawnee and has served in Pauls Valley for the past 40 years. Not only did Charles serve his church but his community and he was honored by the State of Oklahoma receiving a citation from the Department of Human Services recognizing him as the most distinguished and outstanding volunteer in the State of Oklahoma for unselfish and untiring contribution of time, skill, and efforts to the community. Charles loved sharing Jesus as an evangelist and missionary in the U.S. and abroad. Charles served on the state PCG Board and some of his positions were Presbyter, Section Leader, District Board, and General Board but his passion was serving as Finance Director.
