Robert M. "Mike" Geyer, 57, of Marion, passed away Sunday evening June 10, 2007, at Marion General Hospital surrounded by family and friends.
Mike was born on Jan. 16, 1950, in Charleston, S.C., to Carl E. and Dorothy (Miller) Geyer.
As a teenager, Mike worked at IGA and then worked for Armco, Glen-Gery, Huber and with Semco until his retirement with disability.
Mike graduated from River Valley High School in 1969 and proudly served in the Air Force after high school.
On Oct. 6. 1979, Mike married Kathleen S. "Kathy" McKinney here in Marion, Ohio. Mike was an avid Harding Presidents and Ohio State Buckeye fan and was very involved with his children and granddaughter. He also enjoyed the summer weekends at Marblehead on Lake Erie.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Carl E. Geyer, brother Carl E. Geyer, stepfather Bob Burch, in-laws Paul and Olive McKinney and sister-in-law Rita Converse.
Mike is survived by his wife Kathy S. (McKinney); his mother, Dorothy E. (Miller) Cluff and stepfather, William Cluff of Marion; his four children, Jenny Lyn (Geyer) Cunningham, Michaela Susan, Evan Michael and Misty Dawn, all of Marion, Ohio, granddaughter, Keily Renae Cunningham. Mike is also survived by his siblings, Dwight Geyer, Keith (Kathy) Geyer, Nancy Geyer, Sheila Geyer of Marion, Ohio, and Lonnie (Judy) Geyer of Galion, Ohio. Mike is survived by in-laws, Frannie Kise of Marion, Ohio, David (Phyllis) McKinney of Westerville, Ohio; many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews who he loved very much and the family of Bernard (deceased) and Martha Lyon of Caledonia, Ohio. Mike is also survived by his faithful companion, Wilhelm, his beloved dog.
