A native of Union County, she was born March 29, 1925, in Lewisburg, one of 12, a daughter of the late James and Alice (Boop) Dover. She was married to Robert Q. Burns Sr. who preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 1984.
Katz attended Lewisburg schools.
She was employed as a floor lady at Quaker Manufacturing.
Katz enjoyed bingo, collecting butterflies, reading, and crocheting.
She is survived by three children, Robert Q. Burns Jr. (Harriet) of Jesup, Ga., Debra J. Krout (Raymond) of Mifflinburg, and David A. Burns of Milton; four grandchildren, Wendy Walter (Steve), Doug Walter (Heather), Ethyn Burns, and Koltyn Hause; three stepgrandchildren, Jan, Eric and Michael Krout; eight great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Ruth Smith of Harrisburg, Helen Hoover of Sunbury, and Violet Longenberger of Sunbury.
She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas R. Burns; and five brothers and three sisters.
Friends and relatives will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, May 10, at the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home, Market ∧ Eighth streets, Lewisburg, followed by the funeral at 2, with the Rev. John H. Shaw III officiating.
Burial will follow in the Lewisburg Cemetery.
