John William “Bill” Mendenhall, 85 years old of Pickering, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Village Care in Maryville, Missouri.
Bill was born May 7, 1933 in Milan, Missouri to Otto and Alma Josephine (Franklin) Mendenhall. He is survived by: a nephew, John Leonard of La Porte, Indiana; a niece, Nancy Winn of La Porte, Indiana; and a good friend, Rick Emery of Pickering. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Grace Chapman.
Bill grew up in Milan, later moving to Tarkio, and then to Maryville where he worked at Northwest Missouri State University for 29 years.
A funeral service for Bill will be held 1:30 PM, Monday, April 1, 2019 at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan. No visitation is scheduled. Burial will follow at Deep Springs Cemetery, South of Milan.
