LORETTA "JANE" FIDLER BURNER, 88, of The Woodlands, Texas, was called to her eternal home on Friday, January 29, 2010. She was born to Russell Quinn Fidler and Katherine Guttrich Fidler in Rensselaer, Jasper County, Indiana on October 19, 1921. Jane later moved with her parents to Texas where she attended Alvin High School and graduated from Pasadena High School and Massey Business College in Houston, Texas. Throughout her career, Jane was employed as both executive secretary and legal secretary in the oil and gas industry, working for Sohio Petroleum Company, P. R. Rutherford Oil Co., and Newmont Oil Company, before starting her own business, San Jacinto Secretarial Service, in downtown Houston. She culminated her distinguished career when she retired from The Williams Companies, Inc. in Houston, Texas in 1992.As a single mother, Jane devoted her life to raising her daughter, Sharon, and no child was more loved. She also had a special place in her heart for animals, most especially her dogs, and she fully expected to join them all in heaven. Jane had a passion for music, and she was an accomplished pianist and organist. She also loved traveling, especially driving trips, and she "hit the road" every chance she got--usually to the mountains out West which, at her request, will be her final resting place. She was a lovely lady, inside and out, known for her generous spirit and caring heart, and she was loved and respected by all who knew her.Jane was preceded in death by her parents, sister Catherine Fidler McDaniel, brother Charles Fidler, and nephew Russell Don Fidler. She leaves her daughter Sharon Burner Wilson and her husband Richard Wilson of Spring, Texas; nieces, Kay Hessom, Karen Hale, Pamela Fidler, Holly Fidler, and Tina Fidler; and many other loving family members and friends to cherish her memory.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2010 at Trinity Episcopal Church in The Woodlands, 3901 South Panther Creek Drive, Spring, Texas 77381, Tel. 281-367-8113 with The Reverend Randall Trego officiating.
