She was born in Hibbing, MN on June 15, 1937, the daughter of the late James L. And Livia A. Oventile Gherna. On June 23, 1956 she was united in marriage to Ray Kramer in Duluth, MN. Sandy and Ray owned and operated Kramer’s Kampers in Zion, IL for 52 years.
Surviving Sandy is her husband Ray of 62 years, four children; Sue (Jerry) McCleary, Catherine (Ken) Fouty, Pete (Leanne) Kramer and Raymond (Melissa) Kramer, 9 grandchildren; Michael, Christopher, Joseph, Malcolm, Kate, Madelyn, Blythe, Thomas and Nolan, 3 great grandchildren; George, Paisley and Henry, one brother; James (Toppy) Gherna. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at the Congdon Funeral Home, Zion, IL. On Monday January 22, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and will continue on Tuesday at Our Lady of Humility Catholic Church, 10655 W. Wadsworth Rd. Zion, IL from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery.
