Cecil Rose Kennedy took flight on angel’s wings on March 6, 2019, she was 83. She was born on July 2, 1935 in Pine Ridge, South Dakota to Alex and Hattie (Apple) Amiotte. She grew up in the Potato Creek area, where her and her brother Lyle collected old bones they used as toys pretending they were cows and horses.
After graduating from high school she married Bernard Kennedy on March 23, 1954 in Billings, Montana. This marriage was blessed with two sons, Boyd and DeWayne. After a short-lived construction life, they moved to Rapid Valley and purchased a trailer court, which Cecil managed for years. She was also proud to be a part-time truck driver with the CB handle of “mother trucker”. She also partnered with her brother Lyle in a horseracing venture. One of her greatest joys was fishing and camping with her grandchildren.
Her parents Alex and Hattie, her husband Bernard, sisters Barbara and Audrey and her brother Jim preceded her in death.
She is survived by her brother Lyle (Betty), her sons Boyd (Dottie) and DeWayne, grandsons, Brandon (Ali) and Dallas, great granddaughters, Josie, Kjersten, Evie, Emerson and Alexandria and great grandson Levi. She is also survived by her extended family, granddaughters, Bambi and Clarice (Nick), Grandson Mike (Marlo), great granddaughters Shaelynn, Shantel, JaceLynn and Riley, great grandson Lane and numerous nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed by all. We Love You!
