Tupelo/Plantersville-Donna Mae Hester Armstrong, a kind and gentle soul, met her Creator on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 after a sudden and unexpected illness. Donna was born in Houston, Texas on July 1, 1958 to the late Robert Hester, Jr. and Noellene Repult Hester Philpot. She spent most of her adult life in the Plantersville area where she attended Plantersville Jr. High School and later graduated from Shannon High School in 1976. She was the go to person through her school days and could carry on meaningful conversation with family, friends and strangers with her vibrant personality always shining. She continued this countenance right up to her death. Donna married the love of her life, Claude Armstrong, III on Sept. 8, 1997, a beautiful partnership of 22 years. Donna was not afraid of work and spent almost 25 years associated with Fred’s on Varsity Drive in Tupelo. At her death, she was co-manager. An animal lover, she loved dogs and rescued many in her life. She loved country music, had a meticulous memory and served as her family archivist, loved to be a confident to many but didn’t mind sharing what she knew with anyone. She was a member of her childhood church, the First Baptist Church, Plantersville.
