Marvin was an United Stated Air Force Veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Air Force, he went to work at Wright Patterson Air Force Base for Serco. He loved to mow his yard and watch Tom and Jerry.
Surviving are his step-daughter, Tammy Smith of Hillsboro, step-son, James (Susan) Smith of New Carlisle, four step-grandchildren, James (Brandy) Smith, Kevin (Suzie) Smith, Danny (Anna) Smith, and Jamie Miller, many great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Anders, step-daughter, Sharon Lane, four brothers, Donald, Kenny, Wayne, and Walter Anders, and three sisters, Cory "Helen" Smith, Elizabeth Jean Willison, and Frances "Betty" Savage.
