Marie Sarber Patterson, age 95, of Bloomington, passed away Friday evening (04/19/2019) at Stonecroft Health Campus in Bloomington with her loving family by her side. Born September 26, 1923 in Bloomington, she was the daughter of Roe and Grace (Young) Sarber. Marie retired from the First National Bank of Bloomington where she worked in the data control center at the main office. Family was very important to her and she loved growing roses, gardening, camping, especially at McCormick’s Creek and Brown County State Parks, and traveling with her late husband, Lawrence E. Patterson. She was a member of McDoel Baptist Church.

Marie is survived by her two sons and their wives, Larry D. and Linda (Glidden) Patterson, of Solsberry and Gerald L. “Gerry” and Susan (Tomai) Patterson, of Alexandria, Virginia; three grandsons, David Patterson and his wife, Amy (Pankow), of Solsberry and Egan Patterson and Benjamin Patterson, both of Alexandria, Virginia; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Nolan Coy; three sisters, Rose Minton, of Columbus, Indiana, Carroll “Joanne” Baird, of Chicago and Sharon Smith, and her husband, James, of Columbus, Indiana.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and James Chestnut, Virginia and Vic Gulickson and Marilyn and Tom Jester; and brothers-in-law Donald Baird and Daniel Minton.
