Christopher Francis Farrell, 68, died on Tuesday, April 23, 2019. He was born January 27, 1951 in Boston, Massachusetts to Silvester and Mary Farrell. He came with the family to Oklahoma City in 1958. Christopher attended Holy Child School, and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He spent four years in South America, where he learned to speak Spanish fluently. Christopher had Downs Syndrome and moved to the Center of Family Love in Okarche in 1983. There he thrived and made many friends! He worked in the CFL workshop, performing many duties from picking wool to placing labels on items. He spent some time working for Heritage: The Integrated Resource where he packaged promotional items. Christopher was able to move into a Group home in El Reno, and worked at McDonald's there and helped fabricate air filters. He had two church homes that loved him dearly: New Hope Church of Christ in Edmond, and Wesley United Methodist Church in El Reno. He returned to the Center of Family Love in Okarche in October 2018. Through the years, he was able to spend much time with his family. He worked with his brother, Paul, where Christopher picked up on the processes quickly and often knew what Paul needed before being asked. He was also able to take many vacations with his family. Christopher was an avid OU fan for many years. And then, after meeting some OSU football players at the Center, became an ardent OSU fan - all things orange. Christopher had a true servant's heart and a smile that exuded joy. He enjoyed playing golf with Paul, bowling with the Center of Family Love, and watching Rocky movies. He loved music and singing along. His mother preceded him in death in 1961; his father in 1995; step mother, Georgina in 2000; and three siblings, John, Mary Stark, and Richard. Christopher was survived by seven siblings, Rita Haugen and Dennis, Bob Farrell and Connie, Gael Cassady, Jeannie Brady and Mark, Donald Farrell, Paul Farrell and Karen, and Joanne Rupert and Ray. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, 25 April, at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery Chapel. A celebration of his life was held at 7:00 p.m. at the Smith & Kernke N May Chapel.
