Suzanne E. Carter, 69, of Charleston, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2019.
She was the daughter of the late Clyde and Alice (Wherle) Phifer.
Suzanne graduated from Charleston High School and then went on to Abundant Life Bible College and graduated in June of 2008.
She was a retired medical assistant from CAMC Woman’s and Children’s with over 25 plus years of service in the Children’s Medicine Clinic.
Suzanne was an active member of Maranatha Fellowship in St. Albans until her health no longer allowed her to be. She served in many aspects of the church from alter worker, choir member, Passion play participant and, her passion, the kids church teacher. She served as a leader with the 2-5 year olds for many years.
She also created the “Living Water Dance Ministry” made up of seasoned dancers. They performed many skits, but were mostly known for “Sister Act”.
After retirement from CAMC, Suzanne served as a driver for Meals on Wheels in Charleston until her health no longer allowed her to do so.
Suzanne was gifted in so many ways, from being a talented artist, jokester and performer. She never met a stranger in her 69 years, and always lent a helping hand. Her loving spirit will be remembered by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clyde Phifer, Jr., Frederick “Freddie” Wherle, and Fred Phifer; sisters, Ella Phifer, Alberta Ray, and Claudia Phifer.
